Leaky Dishwasher Leads to Mold Growth in Everett Apartment
This Everett apartment had a small, undetected water leak behind the dishwasher that led to mold growth on the back wall of the cabinets in this kitchen. Apartment staff requested that the countertop remain in place due to an unavailability of replacement laminate. SERVPRO of North Everett/ Lake Stevens/ Monroe carefully removed the faces of the cabinets for later re-use, braced and supported the countertops, and collapsed the cabinet boxes (shown above).
Drywall behind the cabinets was removed and wet studs were dried. Mold was then contained and removed. After mold mitigation, we repaired the drywall and rebuilt the cabinets under the counter tops. The cabinets were refaced with the original drawer fronts and drawers, leaving the final product looking “Like it never even happened.”
